Oasis Youth Care

Finding a Future Through Stability

By John*

My name is John, and I live at Oasis Youth Care. Before coming here, my life was defined by addiction and homelessness. For years, I was struggling without stability, without direction, and without hope. Everything began to change when I came to Oasis. For the first time in a long time, I had a roof over my head and people who genuinely cared about my future. I am no longer addicted to drugs. That alone is life changing. But Oasis offered more than just safety. It offered support, accountability, and belief.

Through Oasis, I joined the mentorship program and was paired with a mentor who continues to walk alongside me. He challenges me, supports me, and wants to see me succeed. Today, I am studying to be a teacher, something I never thought would be possible before. I could not have done this without Oasis. When you look at where I started and where I am now, the difference is stability.

What Oasis provides is more than housing. It is a place where young people who have experienced homelessness can find structure, guidance, and support while rebuilding their lives. The relationships built here make a difference. Having people who believe in you, who challenge you, and who stay with you as you grow changes what feels possible.

Oasis Youth Care exists to ensure that young people have more than a bed to sleep in—they have a future to wake up to. By walking alongside youth through crisis, growth, and independence, Oasis turns housing into a foundation for healing, purpose, and belonging.

Oasis works closely with community partners, volunteers, and local organizations to help young people move from homelessness toward independence. Support from the community makes this work possible: whether through mentorship, partnerships, or shared commitment to helping youth build stable lives.

When young people are given stability, relationships, and opportunity, their future begins to change. Oasis didn’t just help me survive.

It helped me build a future.
