Halton Non-Profit Congress: Saturday October 3, 2026 at the Milton Senior's Activity Centre
The Halton Non-Profit Congress is the region’s premier professional development event, bringing together nonprofit leaders, staff, and volunteers for a dynamic day of learning, connection, and growth. This year’s theme, “Connecting Technology and Humans in the Non-Profit Space,” explores how organizations can effectively harness emerging tools while staying grounded in the human relationships that drive meaningful impact. Attendees will gain practical insights into balancing innovation with empathy—leveraging technology to enhance, not replace, the authenticity and community focus that define the sector. You will be inspired to think critically about how digital transformation can strengthen mission-based work.

Designed for organizations of all sizes, with a particular focus on completely volunteer-led organizations in the sport, recreation, arts, culture, and environmental sub-sectors, this event underscores the importance of investing in the ongoing education and development of both staff and volunteers.

The event will kick-off with keynote speaker Erin Spink, MA, an internationally recognized speaker, writer, and trainer sharing information and research on how global factors influence volunteer engagement. The morning continues with a networking session where sub-sectors will come together to share and learn together. The afternoon offers three education workshops to choose from, including Ethical AI for Leaders of Volunteers with Jessica Pang-Parks, CVA, founder of Learn with JPP, Melissa Cameron, CFRE, of Acclaim Health presenting Community Inclusive Philanthropy in Real Life, and Cyber Harassment Support's Founder Varsha Vaishali's session on Human-Centred Cybersecurity for Nonprofits: Protecting People, Data, and Trust in the Age of AI.
The event will wrap-up with Rishia Burke, Executive Director, CDH, leading attendees through a dynamic closing plenary session focused on building community connections with intention using an Assets-Based Community Development approach.
