Four membership levels to choose from*
Community Builder Membership
Annual membership for nonprofit and voluntary sector organizations
Membership fees include access to the following:

Amplification of volunteer opportunities via the Volunteer Opportunities of the Week social media promotion program*.

Discount on workshops.

Up to three hours of consultation support (annually)*.

Member of Impact Halton Coalition (a network of nonprofit organizations in Halton Region)

VIEWPOINT newsletter subscription.

Promotion of volunteer opportunities via Volunteer Advisor program*.

Opportunity to contribute to the Community Data Watch Podcast series as a subject-matter expert

Invitation to participate in community research surveys and events.

Facilitated opportunities to connect with other nonprofit organizations.

Network weaving support designed to increase opportunities for collaboration*.

Community Development Halton promotes civic engagement and volunteerism while conducting social research and convening for community development. This work support capacity building in the nonprofit, government, and community sectors across Halton.
Membership with CDH offers organizations access to tools, resources, tailored support, and engagement opportunities for development. By joining Community Development Halton organizations contribute to the creation of a resilient community sector, collectively striving to enhance the quality of life for all residents of Halton.
Community Builder memberships are for nonprofit and voluntary sector organizations with an annual operating budget of $75K or higher. Membership purchases are on a rolling calendar basis and valid for 364 days from date of purchase.
Community Builder Membership Fee Levels
(as of April 1, 2025)

Effective April 1, 2026, the CDH Community Builder membership fees will be increasing. All current CDH member organizations were sent a letter via email on February 2, 2026 with the new rates.
Community Investor Membership:
For-Profit Entities
Annual membership for businesses: $750 annually
*This membership does not include anyvolunteer recruitment supports.
Membership fee includes access to the following:

Grow your company's network - potential for consumer marketing initiatives in partnership with CDH.

Impact Halton Supporter.

Discount on professional development workshops and events, including the Halton Non-Profit Congress.

Connection with organizations providing corporate team volunteer opportunities.

Invitations to all CDH hosted community presentations and conversations.

Invitations to participate in community research surveys and events.
-
Membership rate on consulting support and fee-for-service work.

Opportunity to serve as a member of the CDH Award Selection Committee

Listing on CDH’s website as a Community Investor.

Sponsorship opportunity for CDH events, programs, and/or initiatives.

$200 donation receipt for supporting the work of CDH for capacity building in the nonprofit sector
For-Profit (Business) Entity members strengthen the voice of CDH in the community, increasing our capacity to engage in social policy research, analysis, and advocacy for community members and the organizations who serve them. For-Profit (Business) Entity members maintain CDH as an independent voice for positive change in Halton Region.
Community Investor Membership:
Individuals
Annual membership for individuals interested in civic engagement and social justice to stay informed and support CDH's work in community.
2026 Membership Fee: $50
Membership fee includes access to the following:

Impact Halton Coalition member (a network of nonprofits in Halton Region)

Opportunity to serve as a member of the CDH Awards Selection Committee (provided not a current award nominee)

Sponsorship opportunities for CDH events, programs, and/or initiatives.
The Community Investor Membership (Individual) is an excellent way for community members, interested in civic engagement and social justice, to stay informed and to support the work of Community Development Halton. It is also an excellent option for nonprofit and voluntary sector staff to access discounted access to CDH education programs but whose employer is not a CDH-member organization.
NOTE: The Community Investor (Individual) membership level does not include any volunteer recruitment benefits.

Whether you need support engaging more volunteers, help with funding applications or fundraising, or access to data to strengthen your work, CDH is here to help. Comprised of the Social Planning Council of Halton and the Volunteer Centre, CDH is an independent network for over 1,000 nonprofit organizations in Halton Region and we work to amplify the voices of our members with governments, funders, and other key stakeholders. Connecting community is what we do.
The Developing Community Roots Membership is designed for groups with an annual operating budget between $0 and $75K that need capacity-building support. This membership, which runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027, is offered at NO COST. It includes full access to CDH membership benefits, along with two passes to any CDH Educates workshops.
Applications for the 2026-2027 membership year open on March 1, 2026.

We offer a wide range of resources, workshops, and events to help individuals and communities reach their fullest potential. Payments for ticketed events can be made online at the time of registration. CDH offers online payments with credit or debit via Moneris; other payment options include e-transfer to office@cdhalton.ca, PayPal, or cheque made payable to Community Development Halton.
