In this in-person workshop, participants work systematically through the who, what, when, where and why of funding agreements. Ontario transfer payment agreements are taken as an example and standard provisions are reviewed and explained. A workbook is provided and participants should leave with an negotiation strategy.
Participants will learn:
Why the circumstances around funding agreements often prevent nonprofits from being able to negotiate effectively and how nonprofits can improve the conditions in which they negotiate
The legal meaning of common funding agreement provisions
Tactics to achieve realistic gains in negotiation
