About the event

Community Data Watch Friday is an opportunity to learn about our community through data and conversation with others.

This Community Data Watch (CDW) examines immigrant retention in Halton Region using the Longitudinal Immigration Database (IMDB), focusing on five-year retention patterns by municipality, admission category, age and gender, and region of birth, along with newcomers’ early economic outcomes. The analysis is complemented by national insights from the Institute of Canadian Citizenship (ICC) on why immigrants choose to stay – such as belonging, safety, and job opportunities - and from the ICCS’s Leaky Bucket report series, which track onward migration and help explain why some immigrants leave Canada over time.

A Zoom link will be send the day before the event.
