Board Governance Essentials Series: Nonprofit Board Primer
Board members set direction and provide the vision, leadership, and accountability to ensure their organization's mandate is met. This training session is designed for new Board members and covers the purpose of boards, what they do and don't do, legal obligations, liability, and fiduciary duty.
Fee: $25 for CDH Members | $75 for non-members
Presenter: Heather Johnson, CVA, Director, Volunteer Halton
Heather Johnson has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2003. As Director of Volunteer Halton, she supports nonprofits, charities, and grassroots groups build their capacity by delivering robust educational programs, advocates for volunteerism, and assists community members in exploring meaningful ways to get involved throughout Halton Region. A volunteer herself, Heather currently serves as the Past President of the Professional Association of Volunteer Leaders-Ontario (PAVRO); she also serves through her local church.
